Utah State Safety and Emission Tests in Salt Lake City
It seems that every year until the end of time, you will need to take your vehicle in for a yearly state safety and emission inspection to get your registration tags. This will ensure that your car is in proper working order in terms of how safe it is and how much pollutants it emits.
In Salt Lake County, models of cars that are less than six years old only need to have the emission inspections once every two years. The year inspected is determined on the year of the car. For example, if the car is a 2012 model, the emission inspection will fall on an even numbered year. Vehicles that are less then two years old are exempt from emission inspections in Utah.
Vehicle safety inspections also are to be conducted depending on the year your vehicle was made. Vehicles having the model years four, eight and ten years old will require a safety inspection. Cars that are older than ten years old will require a safety inspection. You can also get your safety inspection completed two months before your registration tags expire.
